April 2017

I was blessed to Mentor with Mervyn Waldman DO, BSc, OST and, Caroline Stone DO. at the London Clinic of Classical Osteopathy, London UK.

Doctor Waldman is the most famous Classical Osteopath in the world today . He is at this time, the President of the Institute of Classical Osteopathy,  Associate member of The Osteopathic Centre for Children and, The General Osteopathic Council. He is also currently the Department Head of Osteopathy at Rambam Hospital, Haifa Israel and, head of Osteopathy at the Hadassah University Hospital, Jerusalem for over 20 years.. He has authored several Classical Osteopathy books and is featured in many videos.

Caroline Stone, is a well known UK Osteopath, she has authored several books on Visceral and Obstetric Osteopathy. She taught and was the Principal of the British School of Osteopathy for many years. She now mentors and instructs around the world.

I also attended the famous British School of Osteopathy (BSO) for an Advanced Spinal Manipulation course taught by Dr. David Evans DO and Dr. Neil Wayman DO.

My friend Jared Postance showed me around the vast library at the BSO. I was actually able to touch and look through some first edition books, manuscripts and handwritten papers written by Dr. J M Littlejohn and other early Osteopathic pioneers.

The BSO is the UK’s oldest Osteopathic school; founded by Dr. John Martin Littlejohn in 1917.

Littlejohn was a student of Dr. Andrew Taylor Still.,( Father of Osteopathy.)  Littlejohn is acknowledged as being the man who brought Physiology or more specifically the physiology of the living body to Osteopathy. He wrote numerous books documenting his and Dr. Still's theories throughout their many years of working and teaching together..

Dr. Littlejohn was the teacher and mentor of Dr John Wernham who founded The Osteopathic Institute of Applied Technique which was changed to the present day Institute of Classical Osteopathy in 1956.

2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the death of Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the 100th anniversary since the opening of The British School of Osteopathy, the 70th anniversary of the death of Dr. John Martin Littlejohn and, the 10 year anniversary of the death of Dr. John Wernham.
